  1. Box for spermatic cord: The spermatic cord is a tubular structure that contains the vas deferens, along with the blood vessels and nerves that supply the testes. It extends from the superior pole of the testis to the deep inguinal ring and passes through the inguinal canal.

It is covered by:

  • External spermatic fascia (derived from the aponeurosis of the external oblique muscle)
  • Cremaster muscle and fascia (derived from the internal oblique muscle)
  • Internal spermatic fascia (derived from the transversalis fascia)

The spermatic cord carries the following components:

i) Vas deferens or ductus deferens

ii) Testicular and cremasteric arteries and the artery to the ductus deferens.

iii) Pampiniform plexus of veins

iv) Lymphatics

v) Autonomic plexuses and genital branch of the genitofemoral nerve

vi) Remnants of the processus vaginalis
