What to do after your first pass

My first pass through the course is done.

Great! You followed the instructions in 1.2 (“How to start”) and as a result you’ve taken the quizzes on the topics in the course that you feel you already know.

Your next move is to return to your dashboard using the link in the navigation menu, and continue to quiz yourself by taking “Review” quizzes.

You should do this twice a day for about five minutes per session (i.e. select 10 or maybe 25 quiz cards at each session). I recommend simply doing this every time you finish brushing your teeth. (It sounds a little funny, but I’m serious about that.)

As I’ve mentioned, the point here isn’t to increase your understanding of this material. Not quite. Instead, the point is to bring your recall of key facts and techniques to such a high level that thinking about any topic immediately and effortlessly brings relevant formulas and techniques directly to mind.

So! Get to it, and come back to the book here when your rated Memory Strength is high enough that you feel ready to start working on new material.

Summary: what to do next

  • Quiz yourself twice a day, starting now.
  • Keep an eye on your Memory Strength: when it gets very high, go to the next topic in this chapter.
  • If ever you have a spare hour or two and feel like learning some new material, then that would also be a good time to go to the next topic in this chapter.
