The CMA exam traditionally used essay questions to assess applied knowledge. Beginning with the May/June 2026 testing window, candidates may choose either the essay format or the new Case-Based Question (CBQ) format. Beginning with the September/October 2026 testing window, CBQs become the standard format for English CMA exams in most regions and replace essays entirely.
Achievable's Case-Based Question practice is designed to reflect this transition and prepare candidates for the current and future CMA exam format.
