Prepare for the AP Calculus AB exam with three full-length practice exams that mirror the format, timing, and content of the official test. Each exam is divided into two official sections.

Section I: Multiple Choice (45 questions)

Covers the full range of AP Calculus AB topics using algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and other general types of functions. Questions are presented in various forms, including analytical, graphical, tabular, and verbal, and assess skills such as problem-solving, interpretation, and application of calculus concepts. This section is divided into two parts:

  • Part A: Multiple Choice (30 questions)
    • Calculator not permitted. Timed at 60 minutes.
  • Part B: Multiple Choice (15 questions)
    • Graphing calculator required. Timed at 45 minutes.

Section I is timed at 1 hour and 45 minutes and accounts for 50% of your total exam score.

Section II: Free Response (6 questions)

Assesses your ability to apply calculus concepts, communicate mathematical reasoning, and solve both procedural and conceptual problems across a variety of function types and representations. At least two questions incorporate real-world contexts or scenarios. This section is divided into two parts:

  • Part A: Free Response (2 questions)
    • Graphing calculator required. Timed at 30 minutes.
  • Part B: Free Response (4 questions)
    • Calculator not permitted. Timed at 60 minutes.
