Section A

Section A contains 35 objective test questions, with each question worth 2 marks, for a total of 70 marks.

Questions are weighted to reflect the official ACCA FA syllabus areas, including:

The context and purpose of financial reporting
Accounting principles, concepts and qualitative characteristics
The use of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting systems
Recording transactions and events
Reconciliations
Preparing a trial balance
Preparing financial statements
Preparing basic consolidated financial statements
Interpretation of financial statements

Questions use a variety of objective test formats, including multiple choice, numerical entry, table completion, and other interactive question types similar to those used on the official ACCA exam.

Section B

Section B is worth 30 marks and focuses on longer, scenario-based accounting tasks that test your ability to apply financial accounting concepts in realistic situations.

In the official ACCA FA exam, Section B contains two 15-mark questions. In Achievable, these are delivered through interactive case-based question sets covering areas such as:

Statement of financial position
Statement of profit or loss
Statement of cash flows
Consolidated statement of financial position
Consolidated statement of profit or loss
Mid-year acquisition
